REVIEW – Wedding Haters by Melissa Baldwin

4.5 / 5

This is the first time I’m reading anything Melissa Baldwin has written but I have heard great things about her first novel in this series, An Event to Remember or Forget. I must say, I was not disappointed. Melissa’s writing is catchy and easy to grasp making each page a delight to the reader.

I really wish I could spoil this review with every single detail I thought was magical but I try my best to not write spoiler reviews. Needless to say I thought the entire story line was amusing, light and endearing. I picked up An Event to Remember or Forget the moment I was finished the last page. I found Madison and Cole charming and adorable, so in love and hard to hate.

Bits of the story are a tad cliché but seeing as the storyline revolves around a wedding and meddling relatives how could it not be? None of that bothered me in the slightest. I found Madison’s grandmother and cousins at times a bit annoying but realized it was because I could sympathize with Madison.  The characters were all developed well, and the dialogue between them flowed perfectly without a hint of it being far-fetched.

I enjoyed the twists in this plot and the mystery behind the wedding ‘ruiner’. This is a must for anyone who likes a quick romantic comedy read.
