New Release - Guest Post
It is always hard to see someone you care about find love after his or her spouse passes away. In your head you are happy for them. You don’t want them to be alone. But in your heart you feel bad for the person who is gone…. The person you miss…
“We tell each other everything.” My dear neighbor’s new girlfriend said to me.
I smiled. I didn’t know what to say.
“Yeah.” She continued, clearly not concerned with my lack of response. “We talk for hours about our pasts. I tell him about my husband, and he tells me stories about his wife. We are keeping their memories alive.”
“That is so sweet,” I replied, meaning every word.
The conversation stayed with me long after it ended. Until that moment, I looked at someone moving on as leaving their past behind, not incorporating their past into their future. I still missed my neighbor’s wife, we were close after all, but I loved to spend time with him and his new girlfriend. It was fun to watch their relationship develop from a friendship into something more.
By the time they tied the knot, there was something different about him. He started enjoying different activities and had a spring in his step… And it made me think about the power of love, and second chance romances.
Every relationship in our lives changes us - sometimes it’s for the better, other times for the worse. And their relationship and these thoughts of mine were the inspiration for Plan Bea.
Could falling in love cause a cold, stubborn, and selfish women open her heart back up to her family?
